Although Caerphilly was originally a Welsh cheese, this Caerphilly is made in Somerset, England. Caerphilly production moved to England in the early twentieth century when demand for the cheese had far outstripped the Welsh supply. The Duckett Family Farm in Wedmore, Somerset England is now praised for producing one of the finest Caerphilly cheeses available for export. Chris Duckett still makes the cheese according to the recipe his family used over a century ago. It is a mild cheese with a delicious creamy or buttery flavor.
